Introduction:

Army is the backbone of any country's defence. It is responsible for the land based defence. The size of Pakistan Army is almost 600000 personnel. Soldiers are the part of this force. Pakistan Army is further divided into further corps and formations and soldiers are also recruited by keeping in view the requirements of every branch. Here we will discuss the eligibility criteria for different branches.

Nationality:

Male citizens of Pakistan/AJ&K/Gilgit Baltistan

Age Requirement:

• For All Soldiers: 17.5-23 Years
• For Sanitary Workers: 17.5-35 Years
• For Graduates or more qualified: 17.5-24 Years
• For Shuhada and War wounded families or Driving License Holders: 17.5-25 Years
• For KPK/Balochistan merged districts only: 17.5-26 Years

Height Requirement:

• Soldeir General Duty/Technical/Driver/Nursing Assistant: 5ft 6inches (167.5cm)
• Soldier Military Police: 5ft 8 inches (173cm)
• Soldier Clerk/Cook/SanitaryWorker: 5ft 3inches (160cm)
• 2 years age relaxation for candidates having domicile of Gilgit Baltistan, merged districts of KPK/Balochistan.

Educational Requirement:

• Soldier General Duty/Driver/Military Police: Matric or more
• For candidates from merged districts of KPK/Balochistan: Middle or more
• Soldier Nursing Assistant: F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or more
• Soldier Technical Trade: Matric (Science) or More
• Soldier Clerk: Intermediate (C Grade) or more
• For candidates having domicile of Gilgit Baltistan, merged districts of KPK/Balochistan: Intermediate (Grade D) or more
• Candidates having higher qualification or Computer Diploma will be preferred
• Soldier Cook: Middle, Candidates having experience in cooking will be preferred
• Sanitary Worker: Illiterate or Primary Pass

Selection Process:

• Registration for course
• Physical Test

• Candidates can also register themselves by visiting the nearest AS&RC (Army Selection & Recruitment Centre)

Physical Test:

• 1 Mile running in 07 minutes
• 15 Pushups in 02 minutes
• 20 Situps in 02 minutes
• 03 Chinups in 02 minutes
• 7ft long ditch crossing

Every Regiment has a designated training centre and candidates report for training at their respective centre.

Training & Rank:

Six months training is carried out at designated training centres. Candidates are passed out as soldiers after completion of military training

Salary:

The starting salary of a Pakistan Army soldier is between 20000-25000/- PKR.
